Packer (Nights) - Bluffton Plant

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals to join our team in Bluffton, IN. As a member of the Dot’s Pretzels family, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the 5’s and GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices)
• Visually inspect and manually pack bags of product into boxes
• Recognize and report product quality issues
• Set up scales for bag, bulk, and/or tote weights
• Weigh one bag per case
• Understand the information on the lead label
• Pallet stack as needed
• Pour on rework
• Fill out all paperwork completely, accurately, and timely (including first case verifications, daily 5S paperwork, changeover/sanitation paperwork, etc.)
• Cover bulk lines and recognize and report bad product
• Clean and organize the packing area using approved chemicals and PPE as applicable
• Perform shut down, start up, and changeover procedures
• Rework product as needed

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
• 1-month experience or training in related field
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to effectively present information to other employees
• Basic math skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Qualifications

• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

• Occasional lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, and frequently lifting and moving up to 35 pounds

Schedule

• 12-hour shift: 7pm-7am
• Working 3-4 days/week
• This is a 2-2-3 schedule (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off rotation)

Pay

Weekly pay $500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates
