Packer (night shift)

About the role

Packer Inspector provides support for the operation team by working safely in a fast-paced production warehouse environment, while inspecting product for defects and packing finished goods in correct configuration.

Responsibilities

• Package product into boxes and prepare for shipment
• Check for quality issues on product and contact team lead with issues
• Ensure you have enough supplies at your station (boxes, tape, etc.)
• Keep station clean at all times
• Follow safety guidelines at all times

Requirements

• Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is highly preferred
• Ability to work with others effectively as a part of a team is essential
• Ability to follow standard work instructions is required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Able to effectively communicate
• Ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment

Physical Demand/Effort

Manufacturing work environment. Constant physical activities are required for this position. Such activities could include:

• Ability to reach overhead, squat, and bend at the waist
• Ability to lift boxes from 0–50 lbs depending on the line assigned
• Ability to climb up and down stairs throughout a 12-hour shift
• Tolerance of standing posture continuously for 12 hours
• Intense walking is involved
• Ability to tolerate working environment with inside excessive hot and cold temperatures
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and clothing, when required, such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat/bump cap, hair/beard net and gloves
• Ability to stand, walk, twist, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, bend throughout the duration of the scheduled shift
• Prolonged standing while performing the duties of the job
• Job requires high level of manual dexterity with repetitive use of hands, shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and ankles

Pay

Starting rate $18.50 an hour + $2.00 shift differential for nights — paid weekly

Schedule

Night Shifts: 6 pm – 6 am
