ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assembles appropriate cartons for items to be packed.
- Wraps protective material around items, and inserts into cartons, to prevent breakage and damage.
- Closes, seals and appropriately labels cartons and records on inventory.
- Packs and crates special items in specialized containers for customers, to prevent breakage and damage.
- Maintains material count by carton type.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to handle heavy lifting (50 lbs or more)
- Experience in moving or similar industry a plus
- Excellent customer service
- Professional attitude
- Clean professional appearance
- Must be able to work Monday- Friday, & Occasionally on Saturdays
- Must pass Drug Screen and Background Check
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- A professional, customer sensitive attitude is required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training;
- or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit.
