Packer Handler - Days

About the Role

Ensuring safety and the safety of co-workers is a core value and the number one priority. This role involves visually inspecting products, identifying non-conformities, and packing quality products into boxes according to customer specifications and Berry quality guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect product and identify product non-conformities.
• Pack quality product into boxes according to customer specifications and Berry quality guidelines.
• Immediately place non-conforming product into scrap bins.
• Read travelers and compare labels for accuracy.
• Prepare packaging in accordance with traveler instructions.
• Perform repetitive motion work with hands.
• Communicate questions regarding quality with necessary personnel.
• Maintain a clean and organized work station.
• Read the traveler and complete paperwork.
• Pack lids or containers from any assigned machine.
• Know which supplies are needed each day and where to get them.
• Report any safety concerns or problems to the Group Leader.
• Make boxes as necessary.
• Adhere to food safety and regulatory responsibilities, notify management of actual or potential food safety issues, and act to resolve them within scope of work.

Requirements

• Ability to lift 35 pounds overhead.
• Ability to walk and/or stand for 12 hours per day.
• Must be able to work near moving mechanical parts.
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, ear plugs, bump caps, beard/hair nets, and steel-toed shoes is required. Additional PPE may be needed for various tasks.

Schedule

12-hour schedule that rotates as follows: two days on, two days off, three days on, two days off, etc.
