Packer- 7p-7a- $1,000 Sign on Bonus

Location: 600 Vista Drive, Sparta, Tennessee 38583

Shift: 12-hour C Shift

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and operate machinery, tools, or equipment used in the packaging process.
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Select and assemble appropriate size boxes using a provided tape gun.
• Properly align 6-9 assembled boxes at the machine without blocking aisles or exits.
• Determine if an order requires caps; if so, fold liner over bottles and insert caps at the top of the filled box. If no caps are required, insert the liner into the box to be folded over bottles before sealing.
• Place boxes on a conveyor for further processing.
• Randomly sample product at the end of the conveyor to check for visible defects; report any defects to a supervisor immediately.
• Fold liner over product to avoid contamination after inspection.
• Retrieve and properly place labels on completed boxes.
• Place labeled boxes on cooling skids for approximately 60 minutes before stacking on a finished skid (6-12 boxes may be cooling at any time).
• Seal cooled boxes with a tape gun and stack them on finished skids following specific stacking requirements, ensuring labels remain visible.

Work Environment

• Frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
• Exposure to elevated noise levels, off smells (heated plastic, chemical fumes), and warmer or cooler than normal temperatures.
• Potential exposure to seasonal weather conditions if required to go outdoors.
• Proper use of PPE is mandatory at all times.
• Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.

Physical Demands

• Remain stationary for extended periods of time.
• Move around the production floor and communicate with subordinates.
• Position self to ground level as needed.
• Stand on feet for 8-11.5 hours per day, minimum of 5 days per week, with potential mandatory overtime requiring 6 days per week.
• Move, adjust, and position objects weighing anywhere from 10 to 45 lbs.
• Identify, recognize, and assess documents, machinery, and other items.
