Responsibilities
- Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures to operate packaging equipment (Printers, Coders, Labelers, Vision systems, Tray assemblers, Heat tunnels, Dryers, Forklift, Storage units, etc.)
- Assists during set up of Packaging equipment (Printers, Coders, Labelers, Vision systems, Tray assemblers, Heat tunnels, etc.)
- Maintains all waste materials in the proper satellite storage bins.
- Assists in completing all documentation required to request all products, materials, components, and general supplies required for the day-to-day operations of the packaging department.
- Accurately performs reconciliations within the batch records of products, materials, and components used in packaging.
- Effectively and efficiently assists in troubleshooting packaging equipment to package quality products per standard operating procedures.
- Effectively provides/reports information on process deviations.
- Trains others as assigned/needed.
- Observes, challenges, advises, and supports teammates to adhere to policies and/or procedures.
- Effectively communicates process and/or equipment needs.
- Responsible for data entry which includes recording product packaging information, downtime, and standard production yields.
- Maintains a safe, clean and organized work environment.
- Maintains facilities and equipment as required by Standard Operating Procedures.

Skills
- Twelve (12) months of manufacturing experience.
- Equipment troubleshooting knowledge and skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to operate a reach truck forklift.
- Basic aptitude for math and computer skills.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years relevant experience; 3 years relevant experience preferred.
Success Factors
- Successful completion of the hazardous waste management training program within six months of their employment or assignment.
- This training program includes classroom instruction and on-the-job training to ensure they perform their duties in compliance with the requirements of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, (RCRA).
