Packaging Technician

About the role

This is a full-time, rotating 12-hour day shift position.

Pay

$22/hr - $27/hr based on experience

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging equipment and forklift
• Input production-related data in computer systems such as SAP
• Create and apply product labels in accordance with regulatory and quality standards
• Collect finished product samples and perform quality testing
• Monitor bag weights on scale
• Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment
• Repalletize or dispose of distressed product
• Prepare equipment for packaging different products and packaging types
• Load and unload trucks/trailers and manage warehouse racking systems for materials, supplies, and finished product
• Adhere to all safety trainings, food safety, sanitation, housekeeping, hygiene, and environmental policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
• Minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility
• Ability to perform physical job duties including bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
• Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
• Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
• Must be able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions (heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc.) with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
• Must be able to operate machinery and/or industrial equipment

Qualifications

• Prior experience in production-related work (preferred)
• High school diploma/GED or a minimum of two years equivalent work experience
• Experience operating forklifts and/or similar equipment (preferred)
• Basic experience troubleshooting various mechanical components and systems (preferred)
