Packaging Technician
About the role
The Packaging Technician I at Wana Brands is responsible for packaging our world class cannabis edibles into industry leading packaging materials. The Packaging Technician will operate state-of-the-art high-speed equipment while following the guidance and leadership of Wana Brands management team.
Responsibilities
- Work in a team with packaging technicians to maintain productivity and sanitary conditions.
- Perform autonomous maintenance tasks as scheduled and as needed.
- Coordinating with the Packaging Manager and Leads as to tasks and projects that need to be accomplished.
- Operate packaging machinery.
- Must follow all quality, food safety, and GMP requirements.
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a high attention to detail.
Requirements
- Minimum Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bonus if you have proven experience in a GMP or HACCP environment.
- Must have, or be able to obtain, an MED Badge issued through the state of Colorado.
- Learn2Serve, ServSafe, and/or Green Flower Food Handler Certificate, or ability to receive qualifications within 30 days of hiring.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Preferred Qualifications: Open to becoming trained on various activities, machines, and systems.
- Detailed oriented mindset with a focus on efficiency, quality, and sanitation.
- Enjoys working with a team.
Skills To Be Successful

Schedule
This position regularly works normal business hours, Monday – Thursday, 6:00a-4:30p. Please confirm with the supervisor regarding the expected working schedule. Travel is not expected.
Work Environment And Physical Demands
- This job operates in a warehouse environment and production line/kitchen environment where proper safety procedures must be followed.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
- This position may use standard kitchen, lab, labeling, and packaging equipment, for example, refrigerators, stove, hot plate, rotary evaporator, gas chromatograph, vacuum pumps, vacuum oven, etc.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
- The employee should be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- The employee should be able to lift and carry hot liquids weighing up to 35 lbs.
- The employee must pay attention to proper hygiene and follow strict uniform code.
