Packaging Specialist

About the role

This position involves providing technical expertise, maintaining master data, and addressing packaging-related complaints. It also entails interpreting and guiding on packaging development, managing packaging materiel master data, and resolving packaging issues.

Responsibilities

• Interprets and provides guidance on packaging requirements and specifications.
• Maintains master data and resolves general packaging problems.
• Researches and reviews historical and current data to identify discrepancies, incompatibilities, and redundancies.
• Applies proper labeling and marking procedures according to policy.
• Develops packaging requirements and specifications.
• Supports contracting officers, supply item managers, and quality assurance representatives with technical packaging issues.
• Resolves discrepancies, complaints, and conflicts related to preservation, packing, packaging, palletization, and marking.

• Appointment subject to suitability and fitness determination.

• Must complete DoD certification and other requirements.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience that equips you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position.
• Education: Graduate degree or equivalent graduate education leading to such degree.
• Combination of education and experience: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.

Benefits

The position requires DoD Acquisition Engineering and Tech Management(N)/ETM foundational acquisition certification within required timeframes and achievement of 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every 2 years.

Pay

Salary range is determined by the Federal Pay Scale and is competitive with industry standards.
