Packaging R&D Specialist

Location: Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey (hybrid 3 days a week on site)

Pay Range: $45 to $52 per hour (W-2)

Duration: 18 months with the possibility of extension or conversion

About the role

Lead and manage the end-to-end execution of packaging development and transformation activities. Partner with cross-functional teams, manufacturing facilities, and suppliers to coordinate packaging trials, testing, and validation activities. Develop, update, and maintain packaging specifications and technical documentation. Support packaging-related supply chain and manufacturing initiatives. Execute packaging and engineering test plans, analyze results, and provide recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Packaging Science, or a relevant technical field
• Minimum of 5 years of packaging experience within a consumer packaged goods (CPG/FMCG) environment
• Experience supporting packaging specifications, testing, and supply chain activities
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, including flexible packaging, paper cups and lids, and corrugated packaging
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CAPE/TOPS, and packaging specification management systems
