Packaging & Processing Lead

About the role

This position plays a pivotal role in the operations of a logistics company, responsible for managing and overseeing the packaging and processing of goods to ensure they are prepared for shipment accurately and efficiently.

This role requires a combination of leadership, logistics expertise, and attention to detail to maintain the smooth flow of goods within the supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of packaging and processing personnel, assign tasks, provide training, and ensure the team operates efficiently.
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of packaging by establishing and maintaining strict quality control procedures.
• Keep track of inventory levels, order supplies, and coordinate with other departments.
• Improve packaging and processing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Oversee compliance with all safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of packaging and processing activities.
• Work closely with other departments, such as shipping, receiving, and customer service.
• Address issues and discrepancies in packaging and processing promptly, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure goods are prepared for shipment in a manner that meets or exceeds customer expectations.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience as a Packaging & Processing Lead.
• Certified Packaging Professional (CPP) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) issued by APICS.
• Forklift Operator Certification (if interacting with loading forks or other equipment).
• Effective communication skills with team members and other departments.
• Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
• Strong computer skills to maintain accurate and complete documentation.
