Packaging Operator II $18+/hr DOE (2nd shift-swing)

Responsibilities

• Operates packaging equipment according to product specifications and customer requirements, ensuring accuracy in weights and quality of packaging.
• Maintain and accurately troubleshoot/adjust machine settings as required.
• Lead changeover procedures for packaging lines using tools, standard operating procedures, and specifications.
• Perform checks of product, packaging, and case printing using work order parameters.
• Report any issues or concerns observed.
• Frequently inspect product for adherence to quality, food safety, and customer requirements.
• Case pack and hand palletize pouches and cartons according to product specifications and customer needs, as needed.
• Complete paperwork and logs during production, changeovers, washdowns, and First Article events.
• Perform routine housekeeping responsibilities according to quality and food safety standards, including cleaning floors, recycle materials, trash, end of shift clean ups.
• Follow policies, standard operating procedures, customer specifications, and GMPs to maintain overall Food Safety and Quality program excellence.

Requirements

• 1+ year(s) machine operation experience.
• Able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime, as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Previous experience operating basic computer programs (Excel, Outlook, Manufacturing Systems).
• Previous experience with an ERP system (JDE).
• Previous experience operating packaging machinery.
• Previous experience operating powered industrial trucks (PIT).
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Able to follow written methods, paying close attention to details.
• Able to follow specific work direction and adjust as necessary to accomplish the job.
• Able to maintain legible & accurate records / paperwork as required.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to walk or stand for up to 8+ hours per shift.
• Must be able to reach above shoulders for 1+ hours per shift.
• Must be able to balance, bend, crouch, kneel, and stoop for 4+ hours per shift.
• Must be able to perform simple grasping, push, pull, and feel for 4+ hours per shift.
• Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken or written word.
• Must be able to make fine distinctions by sound.
• Must be able to distinguish object or equipment visually.

Pay

$18.00/hour+ depending on experience

2nd Shift Differential: $1.00/hr!
