PACKAGING MANAGER

Responsibilities

• Manages and coordinates the activities of Packaging Line Operators and the Packaging Mechanical Maintenance team.
• Supports safe, compliant, and efficient packaging operations.
• Coordinates equipment set-up, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Helps ensure production schedules are met.
• Maintains cGMP compliance.
• Develops employees to achieve departmental and company objectives.

Requirements

• Review packaging requirements, production schedules, and work requests to determine product, container, equipment, and labor requirements.
• Prepare or support preparation of Packaging MPRs and adjust work procedures and staffing as needed to meet production schedules efficiently.
• Prepare, review, and maintain SOPs and MPRs; observe packaging operations, perform pre-run inspections and line checks, verify products and containers conform to specifications, and audit MPRs and logbooks as required.
• Provide daily supervision and direction to Packaging Line Operators and Packaging Mechanical Maintenance technicians; communicate company policies, safety requirements, quality expectations, and departmental priorities.
• Ensure assigned employees comply with MBRs, MPRs, SOPs, cGMP requirements, applicable safety regulations, and company policies.
• Coordinate packaging equipment set-up, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance support to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
• Identify and resolve production and equipment problems and inconsistencies; conduct product and equipment failure investigations, determine corrective actions, document follow-up activities, and provide required training.
• Contact and coordinate with vendors and internal maintenance resources as needed to address equipment malfunctions and support timely repairs.
