Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the packaging operations including planning, scheduling, staffing, and performance.
- Ensure packaging lines run efficiently, safely, and within budget while meeting quality standards.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for packaging activities.
- Monitor and develop action plans for key performance indicators (KPIs) such as efficiency, downtime, and yield.
- Collaborate with production, quality, logistics, maintenance, and supply chain teams to streamline operations.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Develops and leads a high-performing team by setting clear expectations, investing in employee growth, and driving performance through structured coaching and development plans.
- Owns team capability and succession planning by partnering with cross-functional leaders to align talent development, training strategy, and long-term workforce needs with business objectives.
- Train, coach, and evaluate packaging team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and yield improving initiatives.
- Participate in new product launches, ensuring successful new product launches.
- Manage staffing, attendance, and other disciplinary processes as it relates to the packaging operation.
- Drive world class sanitation and equipment cleaning practices for packaging areas.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to meet product specifications and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with the Quality team to address any quality deviations or concerns.
- Lead root cause analysis to identify and eliminate issues within the batching operation.
Qualifications
- At least 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing/packaging environment.
- At least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of packaging machinery, automation, and production flow.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Proficient in using manufacturing software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
