Packaging Inspector

About the role

Silgan Containers is seeking Packaging Inspectors for our manufacturing facility in Fort Madison, IA. This full-time position focuses on packaging product to required specifications and maintaining quality standards in a safety-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Package product to required specifications
• Place sleeves in cartons or snakewrap on pallet as required
• Manually load shells into equipment as required
• Monitor product continuously to ensure visual acceptability
• Complete forms and reports as required, both manually and electronically
• Work with management to improve work area, safety, quality, cost, and productivity

Requirements

• Ability to follow instructions and be a team player
• Ability to pull, push, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Safety-oriented mindset
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus

Pay

Starting pay is $19.32–$24.51 per hour plus shift differential and quarterly bonuses.

Schedule

• 84 hours worked every two weeks (76 hours straight pay + 8 hours guaranteed overtime)
• On average, 15 scheduled days per month
• Every other weekend is a 3-day weekend
• 12-hour continuous schedule
