Packaging Engineer - Urgent Need (Onsite)

About the Role

This is a 12-month contract position located in Franklin Lakes, NJ, with a hybrid work model (three days on-site, two days remote). The role is full-time (40 hours per week) and pays $30–40 per hour. Candidates must be US citizens, Green Card holders, or have a valid work authorization (GC EAD, OPT, EAD, or CPT).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Packaging, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical device packaging.

Responsibilities

• Develop packaging designs for medical devices or pharmaceutical products.
• Perform packaging verification and validation for medical devices or pharma industry.
• Follow design control processes for medical devices.
• Apply packaging standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 11607, EU MDR).
• Design, prototype, and qualify new packaging concepts with moderate guidance.
• Evaluate and improve existing packaging concepts.
• Identify, analyze, and specify packaging materials and equipment.
• Support external resources/contractors as needed.
• Adhere to client Quality and Corporate Policies.

Skills

• Working knowledge of packaging engineering principles and techniques.
• Familiarity with legal requirements and documentation for medical device packaging.
• Experience with medical device packaging system development for flexible and rigid applications.
• Proficiency in packaging system verification and validation.
• Experience with CAD tools for packaging design.
• Knowledge of statistics and design of experiments (DOE).
• Familiarity with standards: ISO 11607, ISO 13485, ISO 14971.
• Effective communication of technical knowledge and validation of packaging test methods/standards.

Pay

$30–40 per hour.

Schedule

• Full-time (40 hours per week).
