Packaging Engineer

About the role

Responsible for providing Engineering support for all packaging ideas at Kewaunee Scientific Corporation. The successful candidate will deploy problem solving skills to resolve packaging issues, reduce variability, and increase efficiency in all areas of packaging and shipping.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in a factory setting directly supporting manufacturing
• Broad working knowledge Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniques in relation to packaging and shipping operations
• Prior working experience with formal quality management systems
• Proven track record of experience in data analysis and problem solving to include the use of run charts, Pareto analysis, PFMEA, 5 Whys, 8D, and other problem-solving techniques
• Hands on experience of utilizing data and proven problem-solving techniques to implement and sustain solutions that realize tangible improvements in safety, quality, and costs
• Well versed in Microsoft Office products and AutoCAD / SolidWorks
• Results oriented, demonstrate strong initiative and be able to work both independently and within team environments to serve as a change agent and promote a continuous improvement culture

Education and Experience
