About the Role
The Packaging Development Intern will contribute to and improve packaging functions by supporting the Packaging Planning Team with daily activities, analysis, and optimizations.
Responsibilities
- Support BMW Packaging Planners with daily activities, improving and maintaining existing products in production areas.
- Assist with analysis of packaging concepts and options for future models.
- Analyze existing packaging (steel and non-steel) for optimizations to reduce environmental impact, logistics costs, or for communizing across multiple product lines.
- Provide general support for Packaging Planners on modifications, identification projects, and updates to existing packaging.
- Moderate Packaging Planning Meetings, including team meetings and packaging reviews for new or modified containers.
Requirements
- Enrolled in a degree program related to Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Supply Chain/Logistics at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
- Completed at least 30 credit hours at the time of application.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (overall, not just in major).
- Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours per week).
- Transfer students must have a GPA from their current university.
- Must pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP knowledge.
- German and/or Spanish language skills.
- Logistics knowledge.
