Packaging Development Intern (Spring 2027)

About the Role

The Packaging Development Intern will contribute to and improve packaging functions by supporting the Packaging Planning Team with daily activities, analysis, and optimizations.

Responsibilities

• Support BMW Packaging Planners with daily activities, improving and maintaining existing products in production areas.
• Assist with analysis of packaging concepts and options for future models.
• Analyze existing packaging (steel and non-steel) for optimizations to reduce environmental impact, logistics costs, or for communizing across multiple product lines.
• Provide general support for Packaging Planners on modifications, identification projects, and updates to existing packaging.
• Moderate Packaging Planning Meetings, including team meetings and packaging reviews for new or modified containers.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a degree program related to Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Supply Chain/Logistics at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
• Completed at least 30 credit hours at the time of application.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (overall, not just in major).
• Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours per week).
• Transfer students must have a GPA from their current university.
• Must pass a substance abuse test before the work term.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP knowledge.
• German and/or Spanish language skills.
• Logistics knowledge.
