Packaging Clerk

Position Summary

The First Electronics Corporation (FEC) is an engineering and custom cable manufacturing company based in Boston, Massachusetts. FEC is AS9100D and IPC/WHMA-A-620 certified and provides custom cable design and assembly to defense and aerospace customers. Major customers include leading defense contractors such as Raytheon, BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, and The United States Government.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
• No prior experience required
• Previous warehouse, packaging, or manufacturing experience is a plus but not necessary
• Basic understanding of workplace safety and packaging procedures
• Willingness to learn company packaging and shipping processes

Job Responsibilities

• Pack finished products according to company packaging standards
• Place products into appropriate boxes, containers
• Label and prepare packages for shipment
• Assemble boxes, packaging materials, and shipping containers as needed
• Count and verify items before packaging to ensure order accuracy
• Organize and stage completed packages for shipment
• Replenish packaging materials such as boxes, tape, labels, and protective materials
• Absorb and assist production teams by packaging completed jobs as needed
• Follow company safety procedures and packaging guidelines
• Report damaged or missing items to a supervisor
• Absorb and assist with general warehouse or production tasks when required

Physical Requirements

• Regularly stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear
• Must lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds
• Must crouch, stoop or reach
• Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus required
• Moderate noise level in the work environment
