Packager (1st Shift)

Responsibilities

• Prepare items for shipment to customers by putting items in boxes or pallets and banding.
• Mark boxes of material with part numbers and job names.
• Move materials and items to shipping or to other designated areas.
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code in the shipping and receiving area.
• Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for employee or customer traffic.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
• Assist shipping and receiving by unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, and matching packing lists.
• Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
• Keep an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years of related experience preferred.

Skills

• Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented.
• Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Customer-focused.
• Team-oriented.

Other Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, talk, or hear.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• The employee is frequently exposed to a high noise level.
