Position Overview
Set up, operate and tend machines to mix, blend or pour materials in making candles. Oversee packing operation in a light manufacturing environment.
Position Hours
Hourly pay rate: $18.00 plus $1.50 shift differential for working 3rd shift
Position Hours: 11:00pm - 7:30am, Sunday PM - Friday AM, 5 days a week
Essential Job Functions
- Comply with all workplace standards and safety procedures, including cGMPs, OSHA, SOPs, and Company Guidelines.
- Follow equipment operating parameters to maximize production, while meeting all product specifications.
- Start machines to mix or blend ingredients.
- Add or mix specific amounts of chemicals and ingredients for processing, using hand tools or other devices.
- Stop mixing or blending machines when specified product qualities are obtained, open valves and start pumps to transfer mixtures.
- Able to set up and pour at production line and run all auxiliary equipment.
- Able to adjust and set up photo eyes, speed and fill levels on all pouring equipment.
- Able to adjust and set up all infeed conveyors and row pushers.
- Ensure that fill levels are accurate by periodically weighing samples.
- Verify that the pour temperature of the candles is within tolerance.
- Clearly mark the beginning, middle and end of each production run with the part number, description of candle being run for QC burn samples.
- Stop and reset the equipment if a malfunction occurs. Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Work with the QA/QC department to ensure quality standards are met.
- Operate a touch screen system.
- Observe production and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Accurately maintain work orders and production logs.
- Systematically track raw wax consumptions and/or finished goods in our ERP software.
- Ensure all areas of the production lines are shut down properly at all breaks and at the end of the day’s shift.

- Other duties as assigned.
- Be able to perform all General Labor (Level 1) and Level 2 Activities when required.
Requirements
- Successfully passed all practical sing associated with Production Team Member Level 1 and 2 requirements.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Good reading, writing and mathematical skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Must have good communication skills, both verbally and written in English.
- Demonstrated ability to read/interpret/follow instructions in regard to workplace documentation, such as: SOP’s, Operator Checklists, Work Instructions, etc.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Able to work in a fast pace environment.
- Able to read and interpret work orders, pick tickets and touchscreen system.
- Able to work a flexible schedule and overtime when required.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Low Sensitivity to a highly fragranced work environment.
- Able to lift up to 10 lbs. frequently. May be required to lift up to 35 lbs. occasionally.
- Position will require you to bend, sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, reach, reach above shoulders, utilize fine finger movements, handle objects requiring manual dexterity.
- May be required to stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time.
- Position requires you to be around moving machinery.
- Position will include exposure to marked changes in temperature and/or humidity.
- Good color acuity.
- Able to push a wheeled wax kettle weight up to 400lbs.
