About the role

The University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a Staff or Senior Full-Time Physician Assistant or Acute Care Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to support UPMC Sports Medicine. This position offers flexible hours, primarily Monday through Friday during daylight.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive musculoskeletal exams of the shoulder, elbow/wrist, hip, knee, and ankle.
  • Manage an independent clinic schedule, including new evaluations, follow-up visits, post-operative care, and administering injections.
  • Provide operative support in the OR.
  • Collaborate with physicians, other health care providers, patients, and their families to achieve desired patient outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with team members to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to support the continuum of care.
  • Engage in clinical development and continuous learning to improve professional practice and patient care.

Qualifications

  • For CRNP: Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program, BSN preferred, current state RN license and CRNP certification, current CPR certification, Act 33, Act 73, Act 34 clearances.
  • For PA: Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program, BS or MS preferred, current state PA license certified by NCCPA, current CPR certification, Act 33, Act 73, Act 34 clearances.
  • For Senior Level: Minimum 3 years of experience or completion of a post-graduate residency, BSN or MSN preferred, National Certification, Solid/Strong/Good performance rating or higher on annual evaluation, OAPP approved professional contribution within one year of hire or promotion, ACLS, ITLS, NALS, PALS, ACLS, or other relevant certifications.
