About the role

VitalCore Health Strategies (VCHS), an industry leader in Correctional Health Care, has an opening for a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant at Lansing Correctional Facility in Lansing, Kansas.

Responsibilities

• Responds to and initiates care for medical emergencies throughout the facility.
• Identifies patient health problems and prescribes treatment under the direction of a physician.
• Implements medical care utilizing the medical model to meet a variety of healthcare needs with ambulatory care as their primary focus in a correctional environment.
• Provides education to inmate/patient, healthcare staff, and correctional staff.
• Documents all healthcare contacts.
• Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills.
• Follows security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications.
• Delegates to and supervises other team members as appropriate.
• Adheres to Universal Precautions and other appropriate infection control practices.
• Attends training and meetings as required.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited college/university NP / PA program.
• Must possess current licenses or certifications in the state of employment.
• Experience in Correctional desired but not required.
• Maintains required annual licensure and credentialing requirements for physician assistants / Nurse Practitioner in the healthcare unit.

Pay

Compensation details: $126,000 - $145,000 hourly wage.
