About the role

Skyworks Newbury Park Design Center is seeking a 2027 PA IC Design Summer/Fall Co-Op. In this internship, you will learn and participate in developing advanced, state-of-the-art RF front-end modules alongside seasoned engineering professionals and subject matter experts. Gain hands-on experience, accumulate advanced technical knowledge, and explore full-time job opportunities at Skyworks.

Responsibilities

• Work with experienced engineers to design and develop RFIC for Multi-chip modules
• Design RF power amplifiers
• Run simulations using design tools such as Keysight ADS and Ansys HFSS
• Participate and present in design reviews
• Perform lab testing using standard RF test equipment
• Troubleshoot and resolve design or technical issues
• Collaborate with other engineers and technicians

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering (or related) MS or PhD program
• Commitment to working on-site for up to 6 months (June - December 2027)
• Strong desire to learn, grow, and make an impact
• Strong career interest in power amplifier design and RF/microwave engineering

Skills

• Familiar with amplifier modes of operation: Class A, AB, C, E, F and load modulation techniques such as Doherty PA design
• Familiar with DPD, memory effects, and their impact on PA design
• Willing to share knowledge and collaborate with others
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Preferred: Experience with Keysight ADS
• Preferred: Hands-on lab experience using a network analyzer and other RF instruments
• Preferred: Understanding of HBT technology

Pay

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour. Starting pay depends on level of education, job duties, requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
