Job Summary

Essential Job Functions

  • Cook off all inbound shipments by receiving, inspecting, and documenting deliveries according to established procedures.
  • Verify incoming materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Communicate with procurement, quality, and production teams regarding missing, damaged, or incorrect items.
  • Ensure materials are properly labeled and safely stored or delivered to the appropriate production area or warehouse location.
  • Maintain accurate records of all received materials in the inventory system (ERP/WMS).
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Absorb assistance with cycle counts and inventory audits as directed.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of receiving docks and staging areas.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and production staff to prioritize receiving based on production demands and schedules.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while promoting a safe working environment.

Leadership & Coordination Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all receiving activities during assigned shift.
  • Provide direction and support to warehouse associates assisting in receiving tasks.
  • Cook with internal departments to communicate material availability and delays.
  • Escalate urgent receiving issues to supervisors or management as appropriate.
  • Ensure receiving documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse processes and material flow.
  • Participate in daily warehouse/production meetings to align on goals and priorities.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a receiving, warehouse, or inventory control role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Working knowledge of inventory systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Ability to interpret packing slips, bills of lading, and purchase orders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to be trained and certified.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Frequent standing, bending, twisting, and squatting throughout the shift.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and conditions.
  • Exposure to loud noise, dust, and moving machinery.
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
