P/T Custodian (Kauai)

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team on the beautiful island of Kauai, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment in a commercial building.

Schedule

• Option 1: Saturday and Sunday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (16 hours weekly) at $17.00/hour
• Option 2: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM (9 hours weekly) at $20.00 – $26.00/hour

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, dusting, mopping, sanitizing, and vacuuming throughout the building
• Ensure cleanliness and orderliness in office space, common areas, restrooms, and stock rooms
• Replenish supplies in restrooms and common areas as needed
• Manage and operate a cleaning cart for transporting supplies
• Clean frequently touched surfaces, including wiping down all tables and chairs to promote hygiene
• Clean all interior glass, entry door glass, and accessible windows for a streak-free finish
• Collect and properly dispose of trash from designated areas, including lifting trash from bins and transporting it as needed
• Utilize a golf cart for navigating and maintaining the property
• Carry out customer service responsibilities

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Must pass prescreen check
• Previous custodial or cleaning experience preferred
• Valid Hawaii Driver’s License preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively
• Good communication in English and teamwork skills
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
• Capable of performing tasks in any type of weather
• Physically capable of carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling a minimum of 25–50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and performing tasks such as stretching, kneeling, bending, crawling, climbing, and pressing
