P&D Driver

About the role

You pick up, transport, and deliver freight locally. You will serve our customers regularly as the face of Southeastern Freight Lines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vehicle inspections
• Manage the loading and unloading of cargo
• Ensure the accuracy and compliance of transport documents, especially when handling hazardous materials
• Skilled maneuvering in challenging environments like heavy traffic and tight spaces
• Report any incidents or delays
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies
• Focus on excellent customer service and professionalism

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 months driving experience, with 1 year preferred
• A High School Diploma or GED
• A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with endorsements for HAZMAT, Tanker, and Twin Trailers
• At least 21 years old
• The ability to read, comprehend, and write in English, perform simple mathematical calculations, handle receipts, read maps and road signs, and maintain driving logs
• Detailed knowledge of and compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and guidelines, including those governing safe driving, hours of service, vehicle inspections, and the transportation of hazardous materials
• Meeting DOT physical qualifications and passing alcohol and drug tests

Qualifications

Candidates must meet all DOT physical qualifications and pass alcohol and drug tests.

Skills

• Excellent customer service skills
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and performing basic math
• Ability to handle receipts and read maps and road signs
• Knowledge of and compliance with DOT rules and regulations
