About the role
This position provides commercial lines loss control consultation services for a diverse client base. Duties include conducting research, analyzing data, and making recommendations to control clients' risks.
Responsibilities
- Develop information on client accounts regarding claims analysis, loss trends, and other technical areas.
- Review and interpret client claims data, providing summaries to associates or clients.
- Provide clients and prospects with loss prevention and risk analysis to positively impact their loss ratio and premium levels.
- Develop custom solutions and advise clients on best practices in risk mitigation and safety management strategies.
- Communicate with clients verbally or in writing on safety issues and concerns.
- Provide oversight of insurance carrier activities on client’s behalf.
- Use industry formulas and calculations to create models illustrating Loss Control needs and monitor historical loss trends.
- Prepare spreadsheets, graphics, charts, and diagrams for client presentations.
- Assess and benchmark clients' performance against internal and industry standards.
- Write reports and recommendations based on nationally recognized safety standards like OSHA, ANSI, and NFPA.
- Perform audits/assessments at client locations.
- Prepare property valuations and evaluate fire protection systems.
- Evaluate client safety and health programs.
- Provide technical support to assist with implementation of recommendations/action plans.
- Counsel clients and staff members regarding technical issues.
- Pursue professional development to meet client expectations.
- Develop/manage relationships with insurance carriers and vendor partners.
- Support the sales and service teams.
- Independently complete smaller or less complex loss control analyses or support other staff members with complex projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 4+ years of related experience and/or training.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, ARM, CRM, CPCU, CFPS, CIH, or CPE preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License.
