About the role

You define your role as a strategic partner. You partner with regional managers and our field retail employees to accomplish business objectives through the application of thoughtful, intentional, and innovative people practices. You are an expert in building platforms for people to perform at their best.

The People & Culture Business Partner team operates in strategic partnership with the business to drive the continuous evolution of people practices and foster a culture of belonging that generates high-performance, strength-based teams, and values-based leadership. You will partner with Retail leaders in the application of thoughtful, intentional, and innovative people practices.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main P&C Business Partner to our Retail leaders in the USA-NY/TriState region.
  • Thoughtfully lead all aspects of the people retail business model.
  • Support retail teams to create a people strategy that builds amazing teams who exceed business objectives.
  • Foster, nurture, and evolve relationships that enable rapport, trust, and influence throughout the company.
  • Provide advice and coaching to managers and employees on relevant business and people priorities such as identifying key talent, succession planning, supporting recognition and rewards, developing objectives, performance management, organization design, workforce planning, learning & development, and terminations.
  • Identify business and resource gaps and partner with retail leaders on solutions.
  • Gather and analyze relevant people and business information to identify trends and communicate recommendations to get alignment on priorities and implement improvements.
  • Ensure relevant personal-development tools and information for teams and employees are readily available, communicated, and understood—you champion personal development.
  • Lead and champion companywide P&C programs for the store teams, such as the Performance Review Process, Employee Engagement Survey, and Talent Reviews.
  • Develop cross-functional projects from scratch and participate in business-wide projects that aim to solve organizational pain points.
  • Engage in store and market visits with cross-functional partners to represent talent and P&C data and trends.

Future opportunities may include:

  • Creating ‘out of the box’ P&C solutions to meet business needs.
  • Leading organizational design in partnership with senior business leaders.
  • Partnering to create people programs to support the business, such as the Interim Role Program and Retail Stretch Assignment Program.

Requirements

  • Based in the NYC area and able to travel up to 25% to stores in your region.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience in retail and/or hospitality.
  • Comfortable navigating relationships, with expertise in leveraging data to manage a complex group of stakeholders.
  • Highly collaborative style with a willingness and demonstrated ability to work in teams as both a leader and supporting team member.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and advise team members toward growth and development paths in alignment with business and personal objectives.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, easily able to analyze data, assess people, understand trends, and develop prioritized recommendations.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, comfortable communicating large complex changes.
  • Comfortable operating in the work while simultaneously enjoying being part of highly complex business discussions.
  • Ability to quickly build an in-depth understanding of the business, key processes, priorities, and plans.
  • Remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity.
  • Balance autonomy and collaboration.

Pay

The salary range for this role is USD $94,000 – USD $129,000. Most new team members join between the start and midpoint of the range, where you can contribute right away while continuing to grow your craft, collaborations, and impact at Arc’teryx. This range reflects market alignment and the scope of the role. Individual pay is determined by your skills, experience, and level of responsibility.
