About the role

The Opportunity Product Development Manager (P&C Auto Telematics) supports the P&C Auto Telematics Product & Pricing team at USAA, a leading provider of financial services to the military community. This role involves developing and launching new product features, enhancing existing products, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development of digital-first products that meet the needs and risks of USAA members.
  • Works on the creation and launch of new innovative product offerings and auxiliary/enhanced features/services for existing products.
  • Advocates for the launch of new products and evaluates decisions related to building or partnering with third parties.
  • Generates creative product and coverage solutions to ensure a dynamic product development pipeline.
  • Maintains knowledge of business and underwriting performance for products in scope, analyzing trends, results, and competitive changes.
  • Analyzes internal and external data and member information to support the formulation of product strategy and enhance competitive intelligence.
  • Develops and communicates the new product value proposition for product enhancements/features.
  • Analyzes and evaluates new product performance metrics to recommend offering changes before full launch.
  • Coordinates with relevant control partners to ensure product offerings are designed and implemented in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, Statistics, or equivalent experience.
  • 6 years of reporting and/or data management experience with accountability for complex tasks and/or projects using tools and languages such as Advanced Excel, SQL, Python, R, Tableau.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the function/discipline through application of knowledge, skills, abilities, and technologies towards work products, including querying, data wrangling, report development, and requirements gathering.
  • Experience in developing, deploying, and supporting product and/or integrated suite of products.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to analyze the entire product lifecycle, anticipate potential issues in pricing, underwriting, claims, or experience arising from product design, and proactively identify solutions.

Qualifications

  • P&C Business Acumen, preferably in Telematics and/or Auto (innovation, product management, pricing, underwriting, product intelligence).
  • Experience in creating product briefings and presenting to leadership and product partners.
  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $114,880 - $218,030. USAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role. Applicants must not require immigration support (i.e., H-1B, TN, STEM OPT Training Plans, etc.) to apply for this position. Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure competitiveness. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

Schedule

This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL. The opportunity requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week.
