About the role
OxyChem is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Electrician to join our team at our Chemical Manufacturing Facility in Geismar, Louisiana. Our facility plays a crucial role in producing essential chemistry products that support various industries.
Responsibilities
- Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and or transport our products, as our highest priority.
- Provide attention to detail, and dedication to work in order to ensure reliability of the work site as well as high quality product.
- Perform calibration, repair, and integrity checks of plant electrical equipment to assure that accuracy, functionality, and reliability are within acceptable limits.
- Develop and implement a preventive and predictive maintenance schedule for plant electrical equipment/instrumentation that will assure a high on stream time for equipment.
- Provide technical assistance to production and engineering groups on application of new and modification of existing electrical equipment/instrumentation.
- Maintain, update, report, requisition, and document the I & E department records and resources to assure availability and dependability of test equipment, tools, spare parts, outside repairs, specifications, equipment history, vendor resources, and library resources.
- Continuously improve by staying informed and educated on current safety, technical, and quality practices.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GEDElectrical NCCER Qualification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance of electrical systems.
- Ability to effectively function and excel in a team environment as well as work independently with minimum supervision.
- High safety and environmental awareness.
- Must be able to properly and safely wear all required PPE such as safety glasses, hard hat, steel toed shoes, respirators, etc.
Qualifications
- Associate or equivalent degree from a vocational or technical institute preferred.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Pay

Schedule
The shift is typically Monday through Friday, with rotating shifts and potential weekend work.
