About the role
Join the Go Wild pros for a one-of-a-kind, small group packrafting expedition through the "Grand Canyon" of Oregon.
Responsibilities
- Venture into the West's largest expanse of wild land for a chance to hone your paddling skills on exciting class II-III+ whitewater for 50 miles.
- Camp under some of the world's darkest skies.
- Try your hand at fly fishing.
- Learn about a rich and visible Indigenous history.
- Search for hidden hotsprings!
Requirements
- Basic paddling experience.
- You will be paddling your own single packraft on this adventure.
- Contact us if you have any reservations or if this will be your first time paddling on class II/III water.
Qualifications
- No prior experience necessary, but some river paddling experience is required.
- Contact us with any hesitations or if this is your first whitewater paddling trip.
Skills
- Basic paddling skills.
- Ability to load and unload packrafts.
- Safety knowledge.
- Fly fishing skills.
- Knowledge of local conservation practices.

Schedule
- Start the evening before the expedition and camp out at the put-in with our guides or stay at a hotel in nearby Jordan Valley.
- Breakfast on your own as our guides are busy getting everything ready for our adventure.
- Flat water paddling for 8-10 miles on the first day.
- Practice paddling skills, fly fishing, and learn about the natural history of the area.
- Explore side canyons and visit historically significant places.
- Arrive at Birch Creek Ranch by lunchtime to get gear loaded and shuttle everyone back to their cars at Rome.
- Hugs goodbye and a cold beer or beverage of your choice on the last day.
Transportation
- Transportation from take out back to Rome, OR.
- For the night before and after the expedition, camp out the evening before your trip or stay just down the road in Jordan Valley.
