Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport and deliver petroleum products to customer locations in accordance with all applicable regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and maintain required inspection documentation.
  • Load and unload petroleum products at terminals and customer locations using approved procedures.
  • Verify shipping documents, bills of lading, and delivery information for accuracy.
  • Maintain required logs, mileage records, inspection reports, and other regulatory documentation.
  • Communicate with dispatch regarding delivery status, delays, equipment issues, and customer concerns.
  • Safely maneuver equipment in varying traffic, weather, and delivery conditions.
  • Operate hoses, valves, pumps, and related delivery equipment in accordance with safety requirements.
  • Report accidents, incidents, equipment failures, safety hazards, and delivery issues promptly.
  • Represent your business professionally while performing transportation services on behalf of JRP customers.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements required
  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience
  • Previous petroleum transportation experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service requirements, vehicle inspections, and maintenance standards
  • Ability to safely load, transport, and deliver hazardous materials
  • Ability to read, write, complete required documentation, and perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Must meet all DOT medical certification requirements
  • Must successfully pass required DOT drug and alcohol testing programs
  • Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and customer service

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely operate a commercial vehicle and remain alert for periods of up to 11 hours
  • Ability to operate vehicle controls, including manual transmission (if required) and foot pedals
  • Ability to frequently enter and exit the truck cab using steps and handholds, and perform occasional bending, climbing, squatting, balancing, and reaching
  • Ability to climb ladders and access equipment compartments as needed
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on various surfaces, including gravel, concrete, metal, and uneven terrain
  • Ability to open and close cargo doors, inspect equipment, fuel vehicles, and check fluid levels
  • Ability to maneuver fuel hoses and related equipment in a variety of customer and terminal environments

Work Environment

  • Regular exposure to varying weather conditions, temperature extremes, noise, vibration, and outdoor elements
  • May be subject to irregular schedules, tight delivery timelines, long workdays, traffic delays, and changing operational demands
  • Requires operating a commercial motor vehicle on public roadways in varying traffic and weather conditions

Owner-operators are responsible for: Providing and maintaining their own equipment, insurance, operating expenses, licensing, permits, and tax obligations as outlined in the Independent Contractor Agreement. Owner-Operators are not eligible for employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, or other employee benefit programs.
