Overnight Studio Cleaner & Lead

About the role

Slate is a commercial cleaning company that provides quality-controlled janitorial services for tech-enabled business clients, focusing on boutique fitness studios. We are seeking an Overnight Studio Cleaner & Lead to join a two-person team responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization across multiple studio locations in Chapel Hill, Durham, and Raleigh.

Responsibilities

• Deep clean boutique fitness studio spaces, including equipment, reformers, floors, mirrors, restrooms, lobby, and retail areas
• Take before and after photos at each location to document cleaning quality
• Follow a detailed bilingual cleaning checklist to ensure consistency and thoroughness
• Clock in and out at each stop using a mobile app
• Lead duties: inventory cleaning supplies, place restocking orders, manage cleaner attendance, and coordinate same-night replacement coverage when needed

Requirements

• Consistent availability for overnight shifts starting at 11:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
• Able to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods during overnight cleaning shifts
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Age 18 or older
• Reliable personal vehicle to drive between Chapel Hill, Durham, and Raleigh locations
• Proficiency in using a smartphone and mobile app for clocking in/out and taking photos
• Ability to use provided cleaning supplies and equipment safely and as directed

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior commercial or janitorial cleaning experience
• Prior lead, supervisory, or logistics experience (for the lead role)
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
