Overnight Stocking Manager

About the Role

As an Area Leader at Meijer, you’ll be responsible for overall team member engagement, driving recognition, feedback, coaching, performance management, training, development, and succession planning. You’ll direct Leads and Team Leaders while overseeing area operations and financials, including shrink, productivity, safety, scheduling, staffing needs, and conflict resolution. You’ll also identify process improvements and uphold the Meijer culture.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members to ensure proper onboarding, training, development, coaching, and feedback.
• Identify talent and engage in career discussions to support store staffing and a diversified talent pipeline.
• Hold candid discussions with team members to uphold Meijer standards and support growth within the organization.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, executing corporate plans to maximize sales and productivity.
• Drive safety, compliance, and condition management throughout the store.
• Ensure Team Leaders and Leads provide guidance, assign daily work, and address training needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Passion for providing industry-leading service.
• Strong communication skills to provide clear and precise direction.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information for informed decision-making.
