Overnight Security Guard

About the role

The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all residents, visitors, and staff and protecting Community property. Responsibilities include verifying the scheduled presence of all employees, third-party contractors, and responding to emergencies or natural disasters.

Responsibilities

• Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Ensures authorization to admit all incoming traffic according to established Policy and Procedures.
• Completes assigned Security schedule daily run sheets, avoiding overtime as necessary, while keeping the integrity and security of the community.
• Aids management with maintaining marketing and other community events to provide traffic direction, guest check-in, parking, and security as needed.
• Assists in identifying department needs.
• Observes and participates in the use of Universal Precautions.
• Performs scheduled rounds both inside and outside of the buildings to maintain a secure environment.
• Assists in all phases of safety training including but not limited to performing fire drills and safety inspections and making recommendations on needed corrections.
• Makes scheduled security checks, walking inspections, and radio requests.
• Responds to the emergency response system following standard operating procedure.
• Monitors and maintains scheduled security checks, walk-ins, and radio requests.
• Maintains timely, accurate reports and logs, including but not limited to incident reports, safety inspections, repair and service requests, emergency call logs, doctor run sheets, and delivering pass-on reports to relief officers.
• Notifies appropriate personnel of all emergencies immediately.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Valid Florida Driver License.
• CPR/AED certification.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a CPR/AED certification.
