About the role
Become a member of our Respite team who covers overnight shifts for part and full time Basic Needs Staff and assume their overall responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage youth in program expectations: Ensure safety of all youth while on the premises
- Hold and maintain program policies and regulations at all times
- Perform facility maintenance to uphold a professional atmosphere
- Aid youth in carrying out daily routines and achieving goals
- Adhere to resident medication plans in Supported Housing and Nightly Shelter
- Support residents and/or case managers with move-in and move-out procedures
- Accurately and timely complete record keeping including: Individual client files in Electronic Health Record system, Daily follow-up with e-mail, Time sheets, Documentation of critical incidents
- Communicate and cross over with other staff including the following: Update on the shift and status of all youth/residents, Medication, progress toward goals, critical information discussed, Tasks completed and tasks that need to be completed on next shift
Requirements
- High school degree required and bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of one year experience working with at-risk adolescents
- Knowledge and understanding of adolescent development and at-risk youth including the following: mental health and substance abuse issues; trauma; attachment issues; complex family dynamics; developmental challenges
- Knowledge of life skills work including meal preparation, budgeting, cleaning, healthy decision making, conflict resolution, and job readiness/employment skills
- Ability to set limits and maintain appropriate boundaries
- Model professional conduct in and out of work
- Ability to work as an effective team member
- Commitment to the value of diversity with respect to gender, race, age, socio-economic level, sexual orientation, and religion
- Adherence to agency code of ethics and all policies and procedures
- Valid driver’s license preferred
Qualifications
- Nonexempt positions with a base hourly wage of $21.63, with a possible shift differential of $2.00, $4.00, or $5.00 depending on shift covering
- The Overnight Respite Staff would be specifically available to cover shifts from 1:30 am to 9:30 am, which are compensated with an additional differential of $4.00 for weeknights or $5.00 per hour on weekend overnights

Schedule
- This is both a field and office position and may require some travel for activities, client appointment, etc.
- Due to the nature of supported housing work shifts include days, evenings, awake overnights, weekends, and holidays, schedules and shifts are subject to change
- May require sitting, standing, general use of stairs, and lifting or moving up to 20 pounds
