Overnight Residential Counselor - Full Time/Part Time

About the role
As an Overnight Residential Counselor, you will ensure the safety and supervision of clients at one of our 6-bed residential treatment centers. This role requires staying awake all night to monitor clients, perform small chores, and maintain the facility. You may be exposed to COVID or work with COVID-positive clients, following all state and local safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Stay awake, alert, and active for the entire night shift (10pm–6am)
- Ensure clients are in bed all night with line-of-sight supervision
- Check on clients every 15 minutes
- Conduct facility walk-throughs and maintenance checks
- Assist with inventory checks and notify the facility manager of any needs
- Document all shift activity in KIPU
- Maintain cleanliness of the facility
- Attend and participate in monthly Treatment Team Meetings
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Must be able to stay awake all night; previous overnight shift experience preferred
- At least 21 years old
- 6–9 months of experience working with teens with mental health or substance abuse issues
- 6–9 months of experience in an adolescent group home or similar setting
- Must work at least 1 weekend shift per schedule
- Must pass a LiveScan background check and clear federal, state, and child abuse index checks
- Valid California driver’s license
- Willingness to interact with COVID-positive clients as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous work or volunteer experience with teens or in a group home (teens or adults)
Pay
Hourly range: $21.00 – $27.00 (target starting rate: $21.00)
