Overnight Patient Access Representative - Full Time Pittsburg

About the role

The Patient Access Representative is the initial point of contact for Mercy patients, representing the organization with high standards of customer service, compassion, and adherence to Mercy's mission, values, and Service Standards.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate all aspects of patient entry into Mercy facilities, including scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification, and financial clearance.
• Ensure accurate patient data is obtained and entered into the patient record.
• Work with insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines, and federal/state accreditation agencies.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of clerical and customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance plans preferred.
• A high school diploma is required; some college is helpful.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Ability to work under stress, meet deadlines, and perform tasks accurately.
• Knowledge of various computer systems, including the ability to use a 10-key calculator and computer keyboard.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• The ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• The ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
