Responsibilities

  • Support recovery and participation by sharing experience with and educating about recovery and rehabilitation, coordinating with internal and external resources, and walking with the person on the path of recovery and community participation, independence, and productivity.
  • Provides street outreach to engage clients who are defined as unsheltered.
  • Provides support services until participant is successfully housed.
  • Refer participants to Drop-in Shelters or the Coordinated Assessment Model for housing placement.
  • Documents services provided in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures and applicable rules and regulations of grantors.
  • Models the Pillars and guiding principles of NSO at all times.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Licensure: Certified Peer Support Specialist.
  • Experience: Experience with recovery from the impact of a mental illness, addiction, and/or homelessness preferred. At least 6 months experience in the provision of peer support, self-help, or mental health/behavioral health services.
  • Basic computer skills (email, internet use, knowledge of Microsoft Word).
  • Ability to effectively communicate and engage people in the community/consumers.
