Job Responsibilities
- Promptly sort outbound mail tendered by USPS by destination and flight number.
- Load sorted mail onto carts by flight number and destination.
- Separate mail for smooth loading.
- Establish correct weight for mail.
- Enter weights into DRP for flight STD – 75 minutes.
- Create an AWB entry into Sabre.
- Complete paper manifest for all mail per destination.
- Obtain sign off from runner for mail being positioned to ramp.
- Properly disqualify mail for flight disruption or late received mail.
- Dump and scan inbound mail.
- Complete any necessary postal logs as applicable within prescribed timeframes.
- Obtain USPS manifests for each flight.
- Inbound mail tallied by flight number DRPU entries.
- Keep proper statistics of all mail handled.
- Retain all records of mail activities in organized filing system.
- Secure mail in covered / closed carts.
- Ensure mail does not get wet.
- Ensure mail is secure at all times.
- Report discrepancies to supervisor.
- Liaise with downline stations on mail issues.
- Report suspicious activities to supervisor or Postal Authorities.
- Run the mail to the line, and deliver mail to postal facility from staging point.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED required.
- Must be able to obtain a valid airport SIDA badge.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid and unexpired US Driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Must be able to clearly understand and communicate in English when performing essential job functions.
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings, background checks, and airport/government security background checks, applicable Custom Security Seal, and post offer drug screens.
- Be available to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to handle stress in a fast-paced, high-noise environment, and meet deadlines.
