Pay

Starting hourly rate: $19.75 USD per hour. Pay range: $19.75 – $29.65 USD per hour.

About the role

Working at Target means helping families discover the joy of everyday life. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team ensures product is set, in‑stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. Inbound Experts support a guest‑first culture, retail business fundamentals, and daily workload to meet sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience: greet guests within 10 ft, smile, make eye contact, and thank them.
• Help guests find items, resolve issues, and support team efforts across the store.
• Execute detailed, accurate, and efficient sorting operations; stock, organize, and straighten merchandise on the sales floor.
• Maintain product availability for General Merchandise categories.
• Operate powered equipment (if certified) while unloading freight or moving merchandise.
• Process defective merchandise and handle environmentally sensitive items in compliance with applicable laws.
• Follow safety policies, report hazards, and work safely at all times.
• Support guest services such as backup cashier, order pick‑up, and drive‑up, complying with adult‑beverage regulations.
• Perform other duties as needed based on business needs.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple‑frequency devices, operate handheld scanners and other technology.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow multi‑step processes.
• Stay focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment, handling multiple tasks within timeframes.
• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
• Climb ladders, lift, carry, and move merchandise up to 44 lb repeatedly throughout a shift.
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak times.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements (e.g., Drive‑Up, carryout).
• Maintain mobility for the duration of a shift.
