About the role

Working at Target means helping families discover the joy of everyday life. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team ensures product is set, in‑stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. As an Inbound Expert you will support guest‑first culture, retail business fundamentals, inventory management, and process efficiency while executing daily and weekly workloads to meet sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests: within 10 ft with a friendly smile, within 4 ft with a warm interaction, and end every transaction with a sincere thank you.
• Help guests find items and resolve issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
• Support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive, respectful attitude.
• Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring experience.
• Execute a detailed, accurate, and efficient sorting operation.
• Stock, organize, and store reserve product; straighten merchandise on the sales floor.
• Maintain product availability on the sales floor for General Merchandise categories.
• If certified, operate powered equipment while unloading freight or moving merchandise.
• Process defective merchandise and handle environmentally sensitive (ESIM) items in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; work safely, report hazards, and correct them when possible.
• Support guest services such as back‑up cashier, order pick‑up (OPU) and Drive‑up (DU) while complying with federal, state, and local adult‑beverage laws.
• Perform all other duties based on business needs.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology as directed.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow multi‑step processes.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
• Climb ladders, scan, handle, and move merchandise safely, including repeatedly lifting, carrying, and moving items up to 44 lb.
• Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays) and ability to take required meal and rest breaks.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements (e.g., Drive‑Up, carryout).
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $19.00 USD per hour.

Schedule

Flexible work schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak shopping times.
