About the role

Working at Target means helping all families discover the joy of everyday life. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team ensures product is set, in‑stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor, leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas, and leads Food & Beverage and Food Service to provide a fresh and food‑safe experience. The team also owns pick, pack and ship fulfillment work. As an Inbound Expert you will gain knowledge of guest service fundamentals, experience supporting a guest‑first culture, retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory management, process efficiency and improvement, and experience executing daily/weekly workloads to support business priorities and sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Execute a detailed, accurate and efficient sorting operation.
• Stock, organize and store reserve product and straighten merchandise on sales floor.
• Maintain product availability on the sales floor for GM categories.
• Operate powered equipment as necessary while unloading freight or moving merchandise.
• Process defective merchandise and handle environmentally sensitive (ESIM) items in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
• Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.
• Support guest services such as back‑up cashier, order pick up (OPU) and Drive up (DU) and maintain a compliance culture while executing those duties, such as compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.
• When guests need assistance, engage with guests in a welcoming way, to help solve their specific needs.
• Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• All other duties based on business needs.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
• Attention to detail and follow a multi‑step process.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

Skills

• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
• Climb up and down ladders.
• Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds.
• Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive‑Up, carryout, etc.
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $15.75 USD per hour.

Schedule

Flexible work schedule with varying hours, days or shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays and other peak shopping times; reliable and prompt attendance required.
