About the role

Target helps families discover the joy of everyday life through its values and culture. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team ensures product is set, in‑stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor, leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing and promotional signing for all General Merchandise areas, and provides a fresh, food‑safe experience for Food & Beverage and Food Service. As an Inbound Expert you will support guest‑first culture, learn retail business fundamentals, and execute daily/weekly workloads to meet sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Execute a detailed, accurate and efficient sorting operation.
• Stock, organize and store reserve product and straighten merchandise on the sales floor.
• Maintain product availability on the sales floor for GM categories.
• Operate powered equipment as necessary while unloading freight or moving merchandise.
• Process defective merchandise and handle environmentally sensitive (ESIM) items in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
• Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.
• Support guest services such as back‑up cashier, order pick up (OPU) and Drive up (DU) and maintain compliance while executing those duties, including compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks.
• When guests need assistance, engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs.
• Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• Perform other duties based on business needs.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.
• Capable of working both independently and with a team.
• Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow multi‑step processes.
• Capable of remaining focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and accomplishing multiple tasks within established timeframes.
• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
• Climb up and down ladders.
• Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds.
• Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays) with reliable and prompt attendance.
• Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties (including Drive‑Up, carryout, etc.).
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).
