Overnight Caregiver

Locations: Richardson, Carrollton, Dallas, Plano, Addison, Garland. Shifts available: day, short, weekend, morning, afternoon. Open to both long and short shifts. Pet friendly.

About the role

Visiting Angels’ office in Richardson is seeking compassionate overnight caregivers to provide care for senior adults and those in need in the local area, including Plano, Richardson, Garland, Wylie, Rockwall, Mesquite, Forney, and others. This role is ideal for individuals with strong backgrounds in home or elderly care, community involvement, and a passion for making a difference. As an overnight caregiver, you’ll support seniors with a variety of tasks, from light housekeeping and meal preparation to mobility assistance and transportation. This position also offers opportunities for personal growth, including advanced training in dementia and Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (e.g., doctor’s appointments, walks)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from clients (when able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Requirements

• Passion to serve others—a true caregiver
• Valid driver’s license
• Pet friendly
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Respectful and compassionate demeanor
• Good time management skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong ethics
• Physical endurance
• High school diploma or equivalent
