Overnight Babysitter for Preteens

About the role

We are seeking a responsible and reliable babysitter for our two boys, ages 12 and 14, in Des Moines, IA. The role involves occasional overnight care during 24-hour shifts, with start times generally at 9:00 PM (may vary based on the boys' schedules).

Responsibilities

• Help with dinner preparation
• Provide transportation to and from after-school practices (football and soccer)
• Stay overnight in our guest bedroom to be available for any needs or emergencies
• Ensure the well-being of the children overnight

Note: You will not need to manage bedtime routines, as the boys are generally independent.

Requirements

• Comfortable driving children and ensuring their safety
• Reliable and responsible with overnight care experience preferred
• Flexible arrangements can be made for early departure if needed (e.g., for work or school commitments)

Location

Our home is in the countryside, about 4 miles south of Norwalk and 7 miles from the boys' school. We have one long-haired Chihuahua (no other pets).
