About The Role
As an Assistant Teacher, you will:
- Support the Head Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
- Assist with implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum through play, exploration, and daily routines
- Help maintain compliance with state licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and ratio requirements
- Supervise children and support daily activities including meals, rest time, and transitions
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members
- Support classroom organization, cleanliness, and documentation as required
- Step into classroom coverage as needed to maintain proper ratios
Requirements
- Enjoy working with young children and supporting their growth and development
- Have experience in early childhood education or a related field (preferred but not required, depending on state guidelines)
- Meet or are eligible to meet state requirements for child care staff in a licensed program
- Are willing to complete required background checks and pre-service training in accordance with state regulations
- Demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and a positive attitude
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Huntsville, Alabama
- Possess independent US work authorization
Physical Demands
- Sitting and standing for extended periods
- Bending at the waist and reaching overhead
- Frequently moving or lifting children weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted
