About the role

Facility: Marsh Med Ctr Eau Claire. Location: Eau Claire, WI. Address: 2310 Craig Rd, Eau Claire, WI 54701, USA. Shift: 8‑hour night shifts. Full‑time schedule, 40 hours per week. The Pharmacist ensures accurate prescription review, provides drug information and counseling, monitors patient response, oversees pharmacy staff, and adapts to evolving technology.

Responsibilities

• Review prescriptions to assure accuracy, ascertain needed ingredients, and evaluate suitability.
• Provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage.
• In a retail/community pharmacy setting, review, interpret and dispense both prescription and non‑prescription medication to patients.
• Take an active role in responding to prescription issues and advising providers on selection, dosage, interaction and side effects of medications.
• Counsel patients on medication prescription including proper administration, possible side effects, expected response, storage and any other questions.
• Monitor the health and progress of patients in response to drug therapy.
• Learn and utilize new technology as the profession evolves.
• Provide oversight and clinical supervision for pharmacy services and pharmacy support personnel.
• In a medical center or institutional setting, review and interpret provider orders, provide drug information, assist in problem solving, and provide other aspects of pharmaceutical care.
• Perform unit dose dispensing, IV admixtures, outpatient prescriptions, navigate the electronic medical record, compounding, and work with automated dispensing devices.
• Utilize appropriate age‑related patient information to assess pharmaceutical needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Follow all established regulations and standards governing pharmacy practice.
• May act as a shift supervisor under direct or indirect supervision by department managers.
• Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Thorough knowledge of drugs and their actions; knowledge of state and local regulations.
• Hospital experience or residency preferred (for medical center/institutional setting).
• License must be in good standing by the State Board of Pharmacy in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi‑state licensure privileges as required.

Pay

Salary range: $61.00 – $87.50 per hour. Eligible for a $20,000 sign‑on bonus with a 2‑year work commitment.
