Overhead Distribution Lineman B2
About the role
Centuri Group is a utility infrastructure enterprise operating in the US and Canada. As a Lineman B2, you will build multiphase energized facilities. The position requires third-year second-level experience and six months.
Responsibilities
- Work on utility poles and fixtures on energized situations
- Demonstrate proper cover application, handling energized multiphase primary conductors, and working around covered multiphase lines
- Frame transformer banks, rotate three phase secondary/services, and troubleshoot overhead lines
- Complete tree trimming, multimeter operations, using line test equipment, cut-outs and reclosures, advanced rigging, line repair with rubber gloves and hot sticks
- Read job prints and built to spec
- Follow safety performance requirements
- Introduction to URD installations, overhead line installation and removal, safety in URD maintenance, voltage regulators, rigging for high voltage and transformer connections
- Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
Requirements
- Minimum 3.5 years in the electrical powerline industry
- All the skills required for a Lineman B1
- Understand basic electricity and proper use, care and maintenance of hot sticks
- Pass evaluation of competency before promotion and activity in the Apprenticeship Training Program
Qualifications
Must be fluent in English and able to work in potentially extreme weather conditions. Must have the ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand, climb, kneel, reach, feel, crouch, crawl, and work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Must pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens, provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify, and satisfy a satisfactory background check result. Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and hold/obtain a DOT medical card.

Work Environment
Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions. All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English. Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling. Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment.
